Dubai Solar Park Reaches 3.86 GW, Adds 800 MW in 2025

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park has reached an installed capacity of 3,860 MW, with 800 MW added in 2025 from its ongoing sixth phase, developed by Masdar.

The solar park, which combines photovoltaic and CSP technologies, is set to reach 7.26 GW by 2030. Its development began in 2013 with 13 MW, followed by phased expansions including 200 MW in 2017, 800 MW in 2020, and major additions in 2023 totaling 1,850 MW.

In February 2025, DEWA launched a tender process for the seventh phase, targeting up to 2 GW of additional capacity as part of the project's continued growth.

[SMM PV News] Japan to End Large-Scale Solar FIP Auctions After FY 2026

Japan's METI announced it will terminate its auction-based 'FIP' program for large-scale solar (>250 kW) and exclude 10-50 kW ground-mounted commercial solar from 'FIT' support after fiscal year 2026. However, residential (<10 kW) and roof-mounted commercial installations will continue to receive tiered 'FIT' support. The renewable energy levy for FY 2026 is set at JPY 4.18/kWh.
