In May 2025, domestic PV installed capacity soared to 92.92GW, an increase of about 105.48% month-on-month and 388.03% year-on-year, setting a record high. On June 23, the National Energy Administration released national power industry statistics from January to May. As of the end of May, the country's cumulative installed power generation capacity was 3.61 billion kilowatts, an increase of 18.8% year-on-year. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation was 1.08 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 56.9%; the installed capacity of wind power was 570 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 23.1%. From January to May, the average cumulative utilization of power generation equipment nationwide was 1,249 hours, 132 hours less than the same period last year; the investment in power supply projects of major power generation enterprises nationwide was 257.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%; the investment in power grid projects was 204 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%.
