Retail sales of passenger vehicles in June are estimated to be 2 million units

China Passenger Car Association (CPCA): Retail sales of narrowly-defined passenger vehicles in June are expected to reach 2 million units, with new energy vehicles projected at 1.1 million units.
The CPCA stated that after entering June, producers have intensified their sales promotions to meet quarterly and semi-annual targets, directly boosting end-user sales. The latest survey results indicate that the overall discount rate in the auto market was approximately 24.8% in mid-June. Leading producers, whose retail sales account for over 80% of the total market, have set a retail target for this month that is 15% higher YoY compared to May last year and approximately 4% higher MoM. Based on comprehensive estimates, the total retail market for narrowly-defined passenger vehicles this month is expected to be around 2 million units, representing a 13.4% increase YoY and a 3.2% increase MoM. Among these, new energy vehicle retail sales are projected to reach 1.1 million units, with the penetration rate rising to approximately 55%.
