In May 2025, domestic PV installations surged, reaching 92.92 GW, up approximately 105.48% MoM and 388.03% YoY, hitting a record high.

On June 23, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistics from January to May. As of month-end May, the cumulative installed power generation capacity nationwide reached 3.61 billion kW, up 18.8% YoY. Among this, the installed capacity of solar power generation was 1.08 billion kW, up 56.9% YoY, and the installed capacity of wind power was 570 million kW, up 23.1% YoY. From January to May, the cumulative average utilization hours of power generation equipment nationwide were 1,249 hours, a decrease of 132 hours compared to the same period last year. The power engineering investment completed by major power generation enterprises nationwide was 257.8 billion yuan, up 0.4% YoY, and the power grid engineering investment completed was 204 billion yuan, up 19.8% YoY.
