On June 21, 2025, BYD marked another milestone in its global expansion strategy with the successful delivery of its fifth car carrier vessel, the BYD XI'AN, in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 21, 2025, BYD marked another milestone in its global expansion strategy with the successful delivery of its fifth car carrier vessel, the "BYD XI'AN," in Yizheng, Jiangsu Province. The delivery of the much-anticipated ship, the "BYD CHANGSHA," is also on the horizon.

As a sister vessel to the "BYD SHENZHEN," the "BYD XI'AN" inherits the same advanced design and top-tier specifications. Measuring 219.9 meters in length and 37.7 meters in beam, the vessel operates at a service speed of 19 knots and is equipped with 16 decks and a capacity of 9,200 standard vehicle units, making it one of the world's largest dual-fuel LNG-powered car carriers currently in service. Like its predecessors, the "BYD XI'AN" utilizes the latest LNG dual-fuel propulsion technology to significantly enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

With four car carriers already in operation, BYD has strengthened its overseas delivery capabilities, optimized logistics efficiency, and shortened shipping lead times. The addition of the "BYD XI'AN" further expands BYD's dedicated shipping fleet, accelerating the company's global automotive deployment.

BYD stated that building a self-operated fleet reflects a strategic response to both internal development needs and broader industry trends. Guided by China's Belt and Road Initiative and strong maritime country strategy, BYD is committed to establishing a self-controlled international logistics corridor—creating a "maritime bridge" that deeply integrates China's new energy vehicle industry with global markets.
