On June 18, during MWC25 Shanghai, Eric Xu, Huawei's Rotating Chairman, stated in his speech that 5G connected vehicles would account for 30% of China's passenger vehicle sales in 2025, and this proportion would gradually increase to 95% from 2026 to 2030. The industry should seize the growth opportunities of intelligent connected vehicles. Eric Xu believes that during autonomous driving, vehicles must be able to perceive and make decisions independently, without relying on the network. While both the cockpit and the entire vehicle need to be connected to the network, their requirements and business models differ, so they should be independent and connected separately. Meanwhile, the current 5G connected vehicle industry faces challenges such as 5G IPR issues, intense price competition affecting attractiveness, and inconsistent user experiences. Resolving the 5G IPR issues requires joint efforts from the mobile communications industry.
