






Data from the Online Inquiry Platform for Customs Statistics revealed that China's imports of copper scrap (including copper waste and shredded copper scrap) in May 2025 were 185,200.905 mt, down 9.55% MoM and 6.53% YoY.
Thailand was the largest supplier, with 21,224.673 mt of copper scrap imported from Thailand that month, down 15.27% MoM but up 74.60% YoY.
Japan was the second-largest supplier, with 19,839.326 mt of copper scrap imported from Japan that month, down 39.29% MoM and 15.61% YoY.
Below is a breakdown of copper scrap imports in May 2025, compiled based on data from the official website of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC):
