[SMM Magnesium News] On the morning of June 18, with the first batch of 8.4-meter-long wind turbine blades successfully rolling off the production line amidst the roar of machinery, the first set of new equipment in China's magnesium industry, a 6,000 mt large-scale extrusion press, was successfully commissioned at Henan Mingmei Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Mingmei Magnesium) in Hebi Economic and Technological Development Zone, marking a significant improvement in Hebi City's magnesium-based new material processing capacity. Fu Baoke, Deputy General Manager of Mingmei Magnesium, introduced that this 6,000 mt large-scale extrusion press is specifically designed for the forward extrusion processing of magnesium alloy profiles and sheets & plates, boasting strong production capacity. Taking the production of wind turbine blades as an example, a magnesium bar weighing over 100 kg can complete the production of a large-sized blade in about 10 minutes through a complete process of heating, extrusion, straightening, cooling, and cutting.
