Up 393.75% MoM! The US Becomes the Third Largest Exporter of Film

According to customs data, film exports totaled 42,445.236 mt in 2024, down 32.21% YoY. In Q1 2025, cumulative exports reached 11,679.209 mt, up 13.29% YoY. In May, exports amounted to 43,741.34 mt, up 31.59% MoM. In May, Indonesia was the largest market for China's film exports, accounting for 34.12% of the export volume, followed by South Korea at 11.23%, and the US ranked third, accounting for 10.04% of the export volume, up 393.75% MoM.

In May, exports amounted to 43,741.34 mt, up 31.59% MoM. In May, Indonesia was the largest market for China's film exports, accounting for 34.12% of the total. South Korea ranked second, with an export share of 11.23%, and the US entered the top three, with an export share of 10.04%, up 393.75% MoM.

In May, by country/region, the top ten regions for film exports were Indonesia (34.12% share), South Korea (11.23% share), the US (10.04% share), the UAE (8.49% share), Poland (4.71% share), Turkey (4.65% share), Vietnam (4.29% share), Laos (3.99% share), and Russia (2.73% share).

In May, Indonesia remained the largest market for film exports, accounting for 34.12% of the total. The US became the third-largest exporter of film, with exports of 439.202 mt in May, up 393.75% MoM, and its export share rose to 10.04%.
