Boston-based enterprise Pure Lithium Corp. is planning to build a pilot facility to develop a new-type lithium metal battery produced entirely domestically. CEO Baudouin of the company stated that the technology, which has undergone four years of R&D, is expected to replace traditional lithium batteries and is suitable for applications in electric vehicles (EVs) and grid-scale energy storage systems (ESS), among other fields.
Baudouin revealed that the company is accelerating the construction of a prototype production line while simultaneously scaling up its lithium extraction process, with the goal of rapidly delivering "zero China-sourced" batteries (free of graphite, nickel, cobalt, and manganese) to US customers. This move coincides with the Trump administration's plan to impose additional tariffs on key battery materials produced in China.
