Three Departments Hold Video Conference on Strengthening Safety Management of NEVs
The First Department of Equipment Industry under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Quality Development Bureau under the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Fire Supervision Department under the National Fire and Rescue Administration jointly held a video conference on June 19 to strengthen the safety management of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and to study and deploy the safety management work for NEVs this year. The conference required that vehicle producers and power battery producers should consciously assume the primary responsibility for product quality and safety, implement risk prevention measures in areas such as product design verification, manufacturing, and after-sales service, strictly fulfill their obligation to inform consumers, guide consumers to use vehicles correctly, refrain from exaggerated or false advertising, and resolutely uphold the safety bottom line. They should adhere to a long-term perspective, avoid engaging in "cut-throat competition," and must not cut corners, use inferior materials, or sacrifice product performance and reduce product quality to achieve short-term "cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
