Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 18, MAEXTRO, the brand co-developed by JAC Group and Huawei, officially began mass production of its first flagship sedan model, the MAEXTRO S800, at the MAEXTRO Super Factory located in Feixi county, Hefei city, according to a post on JAC Group's WeChat account.

The factory is equipped with more than 1,800 intelligent robots and features full automation and digitalization across stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly processes. It also supports smart flexible customization. The fully automated welding line integrates 15 steel-aluminum connection methods, 298 specific process combinations, and real-time monitoring for 5,714 connection points, resulting in a lightweight, high-strength vehicle body.

The MAEXTRO S800 officially hit the market on May 30. It comes in four variants: Starwave Premium, Starlight Premium, Starwave Executive, and Starlight Executive, with both BEV (battery electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) powertrain options available for select trims. Prices range from 708,000 yuan to 1.018 million yuan.

The model received strong market response upon market launch, with over 1,000-unit confirmed orders within the first hour, 1,600 units within 24 hours, and more than 2,600 units in 72 hours. As of day 19 post-launch, cumulative confirmed orders surpassed 5,000 units.

Design-wise, the S800 features intelligent electric doors equipped with millimeter-wave radar and solid-state LiDAR sensors, allowing automatic obstacle detection and adaptive door opening angles up to 77 degrees. It also includes a smart welcome light carpet. The sedan measures 5,480 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, and 1,542 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm.

In terms of technology, the S800 debuts with the HUAWEI ADS 4.0 advanced driver-assistance system and runs on the newly introduced WEWA architecture for quicker response and smoother lane changes. The vehicle is built on the intelligent digital chassis, the "Turing Longxing" platform, capable of predicting road bumps and curves while offering intelligent blowout stability assistance for enhanced safety.

Powertrain options include the HUAWEI DriveOne 800V high-voltage silicon carbide electric motors. The dual-motor setup delivers a peak output of 390 kW, while the tri-motor version reaches up to 635 kW. The REEV variant boasts a total driving range of up to 1,333 km, and the BEV version offers a CLTC-rated range of up to 702 km.

Notably, JAC Group and Huawei are accelerating development of their second and third collaborative vehicle models, signaling deeper strategic engagement in the high-end intelligent new energy vehicle segment.
