Recently, at the Volcengine Force Conference, it was announced that ByteDance's Seed and Volcengine would deepen cooperation with BYD's lithium battery division. Through joint laboratories and other forms, they would jointly explore the integration of AI for Science with high-throughput experiments to accelerate lithium battery R&D. Not long ago, BYD unveiled its megawatt flash-charging battery, achieving "a 5-minute charge for a 400-kilometer driving range," which garnered significant attention. In the future, ByteDance's Seed team and BYD's lithium battery division will further deepen their cooperation by establishing a joint "AI + High-Throughput Laboratory" to tackle challenges related to fast charging, lifespan, and safety of power batteries. Meanwhile, both parties will also explore more scenarios for AI technology in battery R&D to accelerate the discovery of new materials and formulations, thereby advancing the progress of power battery technology.
