China's Home Appliance Production and Exports in May 2025

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in May 2025, China's air conditioner production reached 29.480 million units, up 1.6% YoY. The cumulative production from January to May was 134.909 million units, up 5.9% YoY.

In May, the national refrigerator production was 8.510 million units, down 3.3% YoY. The cumulative production from January to May was 40.713 million units, down 1.5% YoY.

In May, the national washing machine production was 9.412 million units, up 1.6% YoY. The cumulative production from January to May was 49.115 million units, up 9.3% YoY.

In May, the national color TV production was 15.764 million units, down 9.2% YoY. The cumulative production from January to May was 75.493 million units, down 4.9% YoY.

The latest data from the General Administration of Customs showed that in May 2025, China exported 6.76 million air conditioners, down 3.1% YoY. The cumulative exports from January to May were 36.46 million units, up 12.9% YoY.

In May, 6.84 million refrigerators were exported, down 8.0% YoY. The cumulative exports from January to May were 33.64 million units, up 4.0% YoY.

In May, 2.83 million washing machines were exported, up 1.8% YoY. The cumulative exports from January to May were 14.03 million units, up 4.0% YoY.

In May, 8.63 million LCD TVs were exported, down 3.2% YoY. The cumulative exports from January to May were 40.72 million units, up 0.2% YoY.
