[Constellium Hits Milestone in Aircraft-Aluminium Recycling]
Constellium and Tarmac Aerosave, backed by Airbus and ValoER, have taken aluminium recovered from retired commercial aircraft, processed it through segregation, shredding, decoating, sorting and remelting, and cast it into alloys that meet aerospace standards for new applications. Constellium’s aerospace chief Philippe Hoffmann hailed the project as proof that even complex, end-of-life aerospace alloys can be fully re-entered into the aviation supply chain, underscoring aluminium’s “endless life.” Tarmac Aerosave CEO Alexandre Brun said the partnership advances circular-economy solutions for the sector.
