Recently, the Administrative Approval Bureau of Ganzhou City issued a public notice on administrative approval applications, announcing that the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the 15,000 mt/year lithium carbonate production project (re-application) of Jiangxi Xiangnan New Energy Co., Ltd. has been approved.
It is reported that the project is located in the Xinhua Industrial Zone of Dayu Industrial Park, Jiangxi Province, with a total investment of 2.1 billion yuan, including 25 million yuan for environmental protection, accounting for 1.19% of the total investment. The main investments in this project include 90 million yuan for equipment, 50 million yuan for working capital, and 70 million yuan for other purposes (including environmental protection investment). The main product is 15,000 mt/year of battery-grade lithium carbonate, with a by-product of 73,483.25 mt/year of sodium sulfate decahydrate.
According to the construction plan, the main part of the project involves leasing the roasting production area, the grinding and brine workshop, battery-grade lithium carbonate workshops 102, 107-2, and 108, as well as storage facilities including raw material warehouses 1-3# and finished product warehouses 1-2#. Public and auxiliary facilities include office buildings, a life service center, a machine repair workshop, a power distribution room, an expert building (including a laboratory), a guard room, and dormitories. New environmental protection facilities will be constructed, including waste gas treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities (a sewage treatment workshop), noise control facilities, temporary solid waste storage facilities, initial rainwater ponds, and emergency response ponds.
According to available information, Jiangxi Xiangnan New Energy Co., Ltd. was established on July 15, 2022, and is jointly held by Hunan Zhuoguang Power Sales and Distribution Co., Ltd. and Hunan Xiangnian New Energy Co., Ltd. As a high-tech enterprise focusing on lithium carbonate production, Xiangnan New Energy relies on technological innovation and green production processes, occupying an important position in the field of new energy materials. Its products are widely used in power batteries, energy storage systems (ESS), and other fields, providing strong momentum for the development of the regional new energy industry chain.
