Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 16, Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand under Geely Automobile, marked a major milestone as its 500,000th mass-produced vehicle—a Zeekr 009 Grand—rolled off the production line at its state-of-the-art 5G smart plant in Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo. This achievement underscores the brand's rapid ascent and strong presence in the luxury EV segment.

From the rollout of its first Zeekr 001 in October 2021 to this latest milestone, the company reached the 500,000-unit mark in just 44 months. During this short span of just over three years, Zeekr has stood out in the fiercely competitive luxury EV market through its emphasis on product quality, cutting-edge technology, and premium market positioning. According to the company, its average vehicle transaction price is close to 300,000-yuan, with top-level models approaching 900,000 yuan.

Zeekr's continued investment in core technologies has been a key driver of its product strength. By the end of 2024, the company's total R&D investment had exceeded 23.5 billion yuan. Zeekr is one of the few automakers in the industry with full-stack in-house development capabilities that integrate both hardware and software innovation. In 2025, the brand will host the Zeekr 9X Tech Launch, where it plans to unveil its new Haohan Super Electric Hybrid Technology, signaling a strategic expansion into diversified energy platforms.

Zeekr is also accelerating its global expansion. Its vehicles are now available in over 40 countries and regions worldwide, with strong momentum in markets such as the Middle East, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The Zeekr 7X has already launched in European countries including the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, and is set to officially enter the Hong Kong market on June 26.

In terms of its technology ecosystem, Zeekr is making significant strides across intelligent cockpit systems, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), ultra-fast charging infrastructure, and smart vehicle architecture. The company has partnered with Qualcomm to enhance the smart cockpit experience and has developed its in-house ADCU MAX domain controller platform, which boasts high computing power, low energy consumption, and extensive communication and sensor support—reinforcing Zeekr's leadership in intelligent driving technology. With its 800V EV models expanding overseas, Zeekr's ultra-fast 800V charging stations are also set to be deployed in international markets.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
