[2025 NEV Rural Promotion Campaign Launched Today]
The first stop of the 2025 NEV Rural Promotion Campaign, organized by five departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), was launched today in Rugao, Jiangsu. A total of 124 NEV car models have been selected for this year's campaign, surpassing the 99 models in 2024 and exceeding 100 models for the first time. It is understood that this year's NEV Rural Promotion Campaign will strengthen coordination with policies such as trade-in and the improvement of charging and battery swapping facilities in counties. In addition, a number of special events will be held in selected county-level cities with significant market potential, adopting a "online + offline" sales promotion approach. Meanwhile, various entities involved in NEV production, sales, and financing are encouraged to participate jointly, customizing integrated sales promotion plans for consumers that combine "car purchase discounts, energy use support, and service guarantees.

In January, national passenger car producers' new energy wholesale estimates reached 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.

According to the latest data from the Passenger Car Association, in December 2025, producers with new energy wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 units accounted for 93% of the total wholesale sales of passenger NEVs that month. Based on preliminary January data, these producers achieved sales of 830,000 units in January. As most producers have already locked in their major sales figures, by applying the structural proportion from the previous month to the current month's data, the estimated wholesale sales of passenger NEVs nationwide in January were 900,000 units. Canada Announces New EV Strategy, to Collaborate with China
