Central Asia-China Trade Hits Record High in First Five Months

As the birthplace of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and a demonstration zone for high-quality BRI cooperation, Central Asia has seen deepening economic and trade exchanges with China, with bilateral trade expanding steadily. In the first five months of this year, China's imports and exports with the five Central Asian countries reached 286.42 billion yuan, up 10.4% YoY, hitting a record high for the same period in history. Specifically, exports amounted to 188.18 billion yuan, up 5.6%, while imports reached 98.24 billion yuan, up 21%.
