Oxford's New Research: LECO Process Increases Resistance of TOPCon Solar Cells

Published: Jun 16, 2025 11:46
A new study conducted by scholars from the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford has found that the Laser Enhanced Contact Optimization (LECO) process used in the production of TOPCon solar cells may lead to an "increase of several orders of magnitude" in the resistance of these cells, potentially affecting their conversion efficiency in the long run.
