【SMM Analysis】Recycling Industry Events This Week (Jun. 9-13): This week's recycling industry events.

This week's recycling industry events.

【10,000 Tons of LFP Cathode Material Recycling Project Launched in Jiangxi】
Recently, the People's Government of Le'an County, Jiangxi Province, issued the first public notice for the environmental impact assessment of a project involving the expansion of an LFP cathode material recycling line and the construction of a new sodium-ion battery cathode material production line. The project is expected to achieve an annual recycling capacity of 10,000 tons of LFP cathode materials. Concurrently, a new sodium-ion battery cathode material production line will be established to advance R&D and manufacturing in this field, with an annual capacity of 200 tons.

【100,000-ton LFP Project Nears Operational Launch】
The industrial park project will be implemented in two phases, featuring multiple advanced cathode material production lines, including:

  • 100,000-ton lithium manganate (LMO) cathode material lines

  • 40,000-ton ternary (NCM/NCA) cathode material lines

  • 10,000-ton lithium cobalt oxide (LCO) cathode material lines

  • A 100,000-ton LFP cathode material production line (soon to commence operations)

【170,000-ton Waste LFP Battery Recycling Project Launched in Shandong】
The Environmental Protection Bureau of Dezhou City, Shandong Province, recently accepted the environmental impact assessment for a comprehensive waste power battery recycling project. With a total investment of RMB 500 million, the project will establish:

  • 1 cascaded-use battery pack production line

  • 1 LFP battery crushing/pulverizing line

  • 1 wet-process lithium carbonate recovery line
Upon completion, it will process 100,000 tons of waste LFP battery packs annually, including:

  • ~71,000 tons for cascaded use

  • Recovery of ~1,300 tons lithium carbonate

  • Byproducts: 10,000 tons sodium sulfate, 1,800 tons copper powder, 4,000 tons aluminum powder

【Precision Lithium Battery Recycling Project Launched in Shandong】
Feicheng City, Shandong Province, released the second public notice for an environmental assessment of an integrated project involving NMP solvent recovery, graphene composite conductive materials, coated foil production, and precision recycling of waste lithium batteries. Phase I includes a 5,000-ton/year LFP cathode material recycling and refurbishment line.

【Battery Recycling Project Launched in Hefei】
Hefei City, Anhui Province, announced an environmental assessment for a power battery circular economy project. Upon completion, it will annually produce:

  • 84,000 tons battery-grade ferric phosphate

  • 18,000 tons battery-grade lithium carbonate

  • 25,000 tons LFP cathode materials

  • 30,000 tons graphite

  • 1.5 GWh cascaded-use battery packs

  • Byproducts: 7,400 tons copper, 38,000 tons aluminum

【15,000-ton Waste Battery Dismantling Project Launched in Guangdong】
Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, accepted the environmental assessment for a new plant capable of processing 15,000 tons of waste lithium batteries annually, including:

  • 5,000 tons for cascaded use

  • 10,000 tons for crushing/sorting

【RMB 3 Billion Battery Recycling Base Breaks Ground in Maoming】
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new circular economy industrial base and energy storage manufacturing facility in Maoming. Key components include:

  • Zinc-bromine flow battery base (RMB 3 billion investment)

  • Renewable resource recycling base (RMB 1.7 billion investment)
Both projects will be constructed in three phases.

【100,000-ton Battery Recycling Project Signed in Sichuan】
A 100,000-ton waste lithium battery recycling project was formally signed in Chengdu. The facility will feature specialized processes including live-battery crushing, liquid-involved pyrolysis, and metal extraction to address booming recycling demands in the new energy sector.
