Cyclic Materials, a Canadian rare earth element recycler, has stated that it will invest $25 million to establish a commercial rare earth processing plant and R&D center in Kingston, Ontario.
The facility will have the capacity to convert 500 mt of magnet-containing raw materials annually into recyclable mixed rare earth oxides, including neodymium, praseodymium, terbium, and dysprosium. The raw materials for the facility will be sourced from Cyclic's recycling plant in Arizona, which separates permanent magnets from scrap products.
Operations at the Kingston plant will commence in Q1 2026 and will provide Cyclic's partners with recycled rare earths for use in EV motors, wind turbines, and consumer electronics.
