Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 10, XPENG Chairman He Xiaopeng announced via his Weibo account that global deliveries of the XPENG X9 have surpassed 30,000 units, underscoring the market success of the company's flagship all-electric MPV.

The journey of the XPENG X9 began in May 2023, when Mr. He first revealed the model's name on Weibo, positioning it as a breakthrough product for the "youth-oriented" MPV segment. By November 2023, XPENG had released the first teaser of the vehicle's interior, and in December, pre-orders quickly surpassed 30,000 units. The model officially hit the market on January 1, 2024.

In September 2024, XPENG introduced a new variant to the model—the X9 610 Long-range Max—featuring extended range and a suite of premium features including AI-powered autonomous driving, rear-wheel steering, and a modular interior. Priced at 379,800 yuan, the model is built on XPENG’s 800V high-voltage SiC (silicon carbide) platform and is equipped with the 800V XPower electric drive system.

The company has also accelerated its global expansion. In April 2025, XPENG announced a strategic partnership with Bahrain’s Ebrahim K. Kanoo, officially entering the Bahraini market. The same month, it began rolling out the 2025 XPENG X9, with a starting pre-sale price of 399,800 yuan and display vehicles reaching over 500 dealerships across 214 cities in China.

On April 16, 2025, He Xiaopeng personally handed over the first X9 keys to customers in Hong Kong, signaling the model’s growing presence in global markets.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
