Total Investment of 1 Billion! Hubei Yichang Announces New Material Project with Annual Output of 10,000 mt Silicon Carbon Anode

Published: Jun 11, 2025 09:02
On June 9, the Yichang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment in Hubei Province issued the first public announcement on the environmental impact assessment for the project of Yichang Lianchuang Heyang Technology Industry Co., Ltd. to produce 10,000 mt of new silicon carbon anode materials annually. It is reported that the project is located on the west side of the intersection of Tianjiahe Avenue and Zhangjiadian Road in Zone B of Yaojiagang Chemical Industrial Park, Yichang City. The project will involve the construction of new workshops, office buildings, and supporting facilities, as well as the procurement of various equipment. Upon full completion and reaching full production, the project will achieve an annual output of 10,000 mt of new silicon carbon anode materials.

On June 9, the Yichang Ecological Environment Bureau in Hubei Province issued the first public announcement on the environmental impact assessment for the project of Yichang Lianchuang Heyang Technology Industry Co., Ltd. to produce 10,000 mt of new silicon carbon anode materials annually.

It is understood that Yichang Lianchuang Heyang Technology Industry Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Luoyang Lianchuang Lithium Energy Technology Co., Ltd. On January 16 this year, Yichang High-tech Zone signed a cooperation agreement with Luoyang Lianchuang Lithium Energy Technology Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 1 billion yuan for the project to produce 10,000 mt of new silicon carbon anode materials for new energy batteries annually, which will be located in the High-tech Zone. Phase I of the project covers an area of approximately 50 mu and will involve the construction of 2,000 mt of silicon carbon anode materials and related supporting facilities. Upon full completion and reaching full production, it is expected to achieve an annual sales revenue of 3 billion yuan and an annual tax payment of approximately 100 million yuan.

According to the information, Luoyang Lianchuang Lithium Energy Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2016, is a manufacturer and service provider of high specific energy lithium battery anode materials. The company has applied for over 30 national patents, obtained more than 10 authorized patents, and possesses multiple proprietary technologies and capabilities in equipment development and engineering in the field of silicon anodes. It is one of the few enterprises domestically and overseas capable of mass-producing and supplying deposition-based silicon carbon anodes and pre-lithiated silicon oxide anode materials to customers.

[Solid-state battery: sulphide electrolyte production 70 mt, January-August]
[Solid-state battery: Sulphide electrolyte production 70 mt in January-August] From January to August 2026, China's cumulative sulphide electrolyte production reached 70 mt, up 119.7% YoY, already surpassing the full-year 2025 total (58.29 mt). However, this impressive growth masks three harsh realities: ① Only 19.6% of the annual forecast target (360 mt) has been achieved; ② The capacity utilization rate in August was just 5.82%, with capacity severely idling; ③ Product prices continued to plummet (LPSC fell over 24% in a single month). Q4 average monthly production will most likely land in the 11.5-13 mt range, with a full-year total of approximately 118-121 mt, representing a "solid climb." Annual forecast of 360 mt, with only 70 mt completed in the first eight months: the gap between the "mild ramp-up" of China's sulphide electrolyte and reality.

Chile’s Farellon Copper-Gold-Cobalt Project Completes First Ore Delivery, Launching Small-Scale Production
According to Red Metal Resources on September 3, the Farellon project, part of the company’s Carrizal copper-gold-cobalt property near Vallenar, Chile, has completed its first delivery of copper sulphide ore, marking the project’s transition from the development stage to actual ore sales and small-scale production. Project lessee and operator Minera KMT transported the first batch of ore to the Vallenar processing facility operated by Chile’s state-owned mining company ENAMI on August 20 and 21. The milestone came only about three months after the parties signed a mining agreement in May, around four months ahead of the original seven-month development schedule. Farellon is an important part of the Carrizal copper-gold-cobalt property. The first ore delivery is expected to generate royalty revenue for Red Metal and lay the groundwork for further expansion of mining and processing activities. The company has not yet disclosed the specific cobalt grade, cobalt output or recovery rate for the delivered ore. However, the project’s move into actual production and sales represents a new development in Chile’s cobalt resource pipeline outside Africa.
