[Tariff Issue Remains Unresolved, Japanese and US Leaders Aim to Seek Breakthrough at G7 Summit] Akira Sawa, Japan's Minister in charge of Economic Revitalization, is coordinating a visit to the US on the 13th to hold the sixth round of ministerial-level negotiations with the US government on tariff measures. At a press conference after the cabinet meeting on the 10th, Sawa said that it was still unclear whether a consensus could be reached in the Japan-US tariff negotiations, adding that "the way forward is uncertain" and that "the final decision lies with US President Trump." He also said that the tariff issue would inevitably be discussed during the Japan-US summit at the G7 Leaders' Summit to be held next week, and that it was still uncertain whether he himself would accompany the delegation. Relevant sources revealed that the Japanese and US governments have basically decided to hold a Japan-US summit during the G7 Leaders' Summit to be held in Canada from the 15th to the 17th.
