[SMM Flash News: China's Rare Earth Exports Rose 23% MoM in May 2025] According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, in May 2025, China's rare earth exports reached 5,864.6 mt, up approximately 23% MoM and down approximately 5.8% YoY.

【SMM Rare Earth Flash】 Australian rare earth producer Lynas Rare Earths has announced an all-stock acquisition of Brazilian miner Meteoric Resources for A$968 million (approx. US$672 million). Under the agreement, Lynas will acquire all Meteoric shares at a fixed exchange ratio of 0.0207 new Lynas shares per Meteoric share, representing a premium of over 68% to Meteoric's last closing price. Upon completion, Lynas will gain Meteoric's Caldeira rare earth project in Brazil, potentially expanding its customer base as Western governments push for diversified overseas supply chains.

China is willing to continue facilitating the approval of export licenses for rare earths and permanent magnets to Europe through the "green channel" mechanism. The EU will continue working with member states to facilitate the resolution of key licensing cases in dual-use areas involving China.
