Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Earlier this month, Geely Automobile's Galaxy brand released official images of its latest midsize plug-in hybrid electric sedan model—the Galaxy A7 EM-i. Positioned below the Galaxy Xingyao 8 EM-i in terms of dimensions, the A7 EM-i is expected to target the highly competitive 100,000-yuan price segment in China's sedan market.
Visually, the Galaxy A7 EM-i features a distinctive star-ring-style full-width LED light bar at the front, paired with sharply contoured headlights that enhance its overall presence. Large, aggressive air intakes on either side of the front bumper lend the vehicle a sporty character. The car measures 4,918 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm—placing it firmly in the midsize sedan category.
From the side, the Galaxy A7 EM-i showcases a well-defined profile with prominent character lines, multi-spoke wheels, and gloss-black trim around the windows, giving it a refined and upscale look. Notably, it forgoes the current trend of hidden door handles in favor of traditional ones, offering a more intuitive user experience.
At the rear, the vehicle features a full-width taillight setup and a subtle ducktail spoiler integrated into the trunk lid.
Inside, the cabin adopts an all-new design language. A dual-spoke multifunction steering wheel is paired with a large digital instrument cluster and a floating central infotainment screen—meeting the expectations of modern consumers. The central console includes a cupholder with a flip cover, physical controls for air volume adjustment, and what appears to be a multimedia control dial, all designed to improve ease of use while driving.
In terms of powertrain, the Galaxy A7 EM-i has already been approved by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It features a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)-dedicated system based on a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that delivers a maximum output of 112 hp. Full technical specifications have not been disclosed yet.
