Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 5, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor announced that cumulative sales of its C11 model have exceeded 250,000 units. This milestone follows the model's previous landmark of 200,000 units sold by December 2023, marking a six-month span to reach the next 50,000-unit threshold.

The Leapmotor C11 initially hit the market on September 28, 2021, with a post-subsidy starting price of under 150,000 yuan. The REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) version debuted on March 11, 2023, priced between 149,800 yuan and 185,800 yuan.

In March 2024, Leapmotor introduced a fully updated version of the C11. The BEV (battery electric vehicle) variant is priced from 151,800 yuan to 205,800 yuan, while the REEV version remains priced between 148,800 yuan and 185,800 yuan.

The upgraded C11 is built on Leapmotor's "Four-Leaf Clover" Central Integrated Electronic and Electrical Architecture and features front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, paired with FSD (frequency selective damping) for enhanced ride comfort.

On the intelligent tech front, the new Leapmotor C11 is equipped with Qualcomm's flagship 8295 cockpit chip and the LEAPPilot advanced driver assistance system. This system integrates LiDAR, the Orin-X chip, 5G connectivity, and high-definition mapping to enable 25 driving assistance features, including Navigate on Pilot (NAP). The model also received visual and functional enhancements, including a new "Songlan Grey" exterior color, an interior trim in "Obsidian Black + Camel Brown," and 20-inch meteor grey alloy wheels. In total, the facelift brings 11 configuration upgrades and 11 quality refinements.

In terms of powertrain, the C11's BEV version continues to offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants. The single-motor version delivers up to 200 kW and 360 Nm of torque, while the dual-motor AWD version doubles this setup. RWD variants come with either a 69.2 kWh or 78.5 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of 515 km or 580 km, respectively. The AWD version is equipped with an 89.97 kWh ternary lithium battery, also delivering a 580 km range.

In its latest monthly sales report, Leapmotor announced that it delivered 45,067 vehicles in May across all models—a record high level on a monthly basis.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
