Recently, Waaree Solar, the US subsidiary of Indian PV company Waaree Energies, announced that it had signed a 586MW solar PV module supply agreement worth $176 million (approximately INR 15 billion) with an independent power producer in the US. According to the agreement, these solar modules will be manufactured at Waaree Solar's facility in Brookshire, Texas, and are expected to be delivered to US customers in four phases across the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Notably, Waaree Solar will extensively use parts manufactured in the US during the module production process to ensure that the products meet the stringent domestic content requirements of the Investment Tax Credit (ITC).

Recently, Waaree Solar, the US subsidiary of Indian PV enterprise Waaree Energies, announced that it had signed a supply agreement worth $176 million (approximately INR 15 billion) with an independent power producer in the US for the supply of 586MW of solar PV modules.

According to the agreement, these solar modules will be manufactured at Waaree Solar's facility in Brookshire, Texas, and are scheduled to be delivered to US customers in four phases across the 2026-2027 fiscal year. Notably, Waaree Solar will extensively use parts manufactured in the US during the module production process to ensure that the products meet the stringent domestic content requirements for the Investment Tax Credit (ITC).

Waaree Energies, the parent company of Waaree Solar, is one of India's largest manufacturers of solar PV modules, with decades of manufacturing experience. In Mercom's recently released "India Solar Market Leaderboard 2025," Waaree Energies ranked second with a 10.7% market share, trailing only behind Jinko Solar, a Chinese PV enterprise.

Regarding the collaboration with US customers, Sunil Rathi, President of Waaree Solar Americas, stated that the agreement underscores Waaree's commitment to building a robust and advanced clean energy supply chain in the US. He emphasized that the Brookshire facility will meet market demand with high-quality domestically produced modules, earning the trust of global customers while contributing to the US energy transition and job growth.

In fact, since 2024, in the face of rising energy demand in the US and the establishment of various trade barriers, Indian PV manufacturers such as Waaree Energies, Adani Solar, ReNew, Premier Energy, Scotvirk Green Energy, and Rayzon Solar have seized opportunities and secured numerous orders from both India and the US. Leveraging their advantages in manufacturing technology, cost control, and market expansion, these Indian PV manufacturers are gradually establishing a foothold in the global PV market.

[SMM PV News] Armenia Hits 1.1 GW Solar Capacity,
Armenia’s cumulative solar capacity has surged to 1.1 GW following the addition of approximately 615 MW in 2025. This rapid expansion has pushed solar's share of electricity generation to around 15%, effectively meeting the country's 2030 target years ahead of schedule. The growth is heavily driven by a net-metering scheme supporting over 50,000 autonomous producers (totaling 650 MW), though the government ended loan subsidies for rooftop solar in July to shift focus toward battery storage.
