UAE Negotiates Trade Deal with US to Cut Steel and Aluminum Tariffs

Published: Jun 4, 2025 23:09
The UAE is seeking a trade agreement with the US to reduce tariffs on steel and aluminum. According to sources, both sides have initiated negotiations, with UAE officials discussing this possibility during Trump's two-day visit to Abu Dhabi last month. Although the UAE is a major oil producer, its steel and aluminum products also play a significant role in non-oil exports. According to data, by 2024, the UAE will become the second-largest exporter of steel and aluminum to the US, accounting for 8% of the total US consumption.
