As the world places increasing emphasis on the sustainable use of resources and environmental protection, the status of the recycled metal market within the global metal industry has become increasingly prominent.

Globally, different regions exhibit unique development trends in the recycled metal market due to variations in resource endowments, policy environments, and levels of economic development. India, the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia, as significant participants in the global recycled metal market, are of great importance for grasping the development trends of the global recycled metal market, yet they also face numerous challenges.

For instance, India's recycled metal industry faces issues such as inadequate infrastructure leading to production and operational inconveniences, low technological levels affecting competitiveness, and ineffective policy implementation dampening corporate enthusiasm. The Middle East's industrial structure is overly reliant on a single sector, coupled with water scarcity and dependence on the international market, limiting its development. Europe suffers from high costs and trade protectionism, resulting in weak product competitiveness and restricted exports. Southeast Asia experiences uneven technological levels, difficulties in environmental protection supervision, and fierce market competition, leading to unbalanced industrial development, pollution risks, and disrupted market order.

So, how do various regions fully leverage their advantages to actively respond to these challenges? And how do they align with the accelerated advancement of industrialization to formulate feasible resource substitution plans? These questions have become global focal points.

In this regard, during June 12-13, 2025, SMM will hold in Thailand the 2025 (2nd) Global Renewable Metal Industry Chain Summit. At that time, Fan Xin, Chairman of SMM Information & Technology Co., Ltd., will serve as the moderator, and Kittipot Thanalertlap, General Manager of Metalcom Ltd., Sanjeev Phadke, Treasurer and Executive Committee Member of the Middle East Recycling Bureau, WENCESLAO MANZ, Director of DIMEXA HOLDINGS PTE. LTD., and Tan Tian, General Manager of Doctor Scrap, will participate as panelists in panel session titled "Exploring the GlobalRecycled Metal Market: In-depth Analysis of the Strengths and Challenges in India, the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia"

Indirect Iran-US Nuclear Talks in Muscat Show Progress, Omani FM Mediates Tense but Efficient Discussions
After intensive indirect consultations, the new round of nuclear talks between Iran and the US in Muscat, the capital of Oman, has achieved phased progress. It is reported that during this round of talks, the Iranian and US delegations did not meet directly. Instead, Omani Foreign Minister Badr acted as an intermediary, conveying a series of core proposals, strategic concerns, and policy positions to the other side. The atmosphere at the talks was tense yet efficient. According to preliminary on-site assessments, although both sides continue to negotiate over specific terms, they have reached a consensus on the key objective of "continuing dialogue."
