[CAAM Advocates Against "Cut-throat Competition"] On May 31, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) issued the "Initiative on Maintaining Fair Competition and Promoting Healthy Development of the Industry." The initiative pointed out that China's new energy vehicle (NEV) industry has been developing rapidly, with new vehicle sales accounting for over 40% of the market. However, the industry's profitability has recently declined, with disordered "price wars" being one of the key reasons. CAAM advocates that: enterprises strictly adhere to the principles of fair competition and operate in accordance with laws and regulations; dominant enterprises should not monopolize the market; enterprises should not engage in dumping below cost or false advertising; enterprises should conduct self-inspections and rectifications in compliance with laws and regulations. The association calls on the entire industry to work together to maintain fair competition and promote the healthy development of the industry.
