[Implementation of a 60,000-mt Scrap Lithium Battery Resource Recycling Project in Guangdong] Recently, the Meizhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment in Guangdong Province issued a notice on accepting the environmental impact assessment report for the "Newly-Built Project (Phase II) for Annual Processing of 60,000 mt of Scrap Lithium Batteries for Resource Recycling by Meizhou Guangxinrui Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.", attracting industry attention. The project, with an investment of 651 million yuan, aims to construct a newly-built project (Phase II) for annual processing of 60,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries for resource recycling, and plans to second-life apply and dismantle 60,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries annually. Among them, 30,000 mt of scrap lithium batteries will be sourced from Phase I of the project, and another 30,000 mt will be externally purchased. It is expected that 18,760 mt of second-life batteries will be produced, along with a total of 15,954 mt of black mass from ternary lithium batteries, LFP black mass, and LCO black mass.
