LS Eco Energy, a Vietnamese cable manufacturer under South Korea's LS Cable & System Group, stated on Friday (May 23) that its senior executives had recently met with Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade to discuss participation in the construction of the country's rare earth supply chain.
According to the company's statement, Koo Bon-kyu, CEO of LS Cable & System Group, and Lee Sang-ho, CEO of LS Eco Energy, held talks with Nguyen Hoang Long, Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, last Thursday (May 22), requesting policy support from the Vietnamese side.
The company revealed that the two sides had focused on discussing regulatory procedures such as approvals related to radioactive substances and environmental protection standards, as well as cooperation plans with local mining enterprises.
LS Eco Energy plans to establish a comprehensive rare earth value chain in Vietnam, spanning from mining to metal production, aiming to leverage the country's abundant strategic resource reserves—materials that play an irreplaceable role in cutting-edge technologies such as robotics and EV motors.
