[Emerita Reports Major Metallurgical Optimization at IBW Project, Gold Recovery Rises to 81.5%]
May 27 – Emerita Resources announced that recent metallurgical testing at its Iberian Belt West (IBW) project in Spain has significantly improved gold recovery to 81.5%, up 27% from the previously reported 64.1%.
The optimization was achieved using the CLEVR Process™, a cyanide-free gold extraction technology developed by Dundee Sustainable Technologies and conducted at its laboratories. The results are based on 18 thermal treatment tests on the La Romanera deposit and show notable increases in gold, zinc, and copper recoveries.
The process also demonstrated a 97.8% reduction in sulfide content and 90% arsenic removal, significantly reducing the project’s potential environmental impact.
Emerita estimates the improved gold recovery could translate into an additional 159,000 ounces of recovered gold, greatly enhancing the IBW project's economic potential. Based on the 2025 resource model, this equates to 4.53 g/t gold equivalent, 8.80% zinc equivalent, or 3.14% copper equivalent.
