JinkoSolar has secured a contract to supply its N-type TOPCon modules for a 100-megawatt solar project in Azerbaijan’s Caucasus region. The modules will be used in the Gobustan PV farm, developed by HuanTai Energy (Universal Energy), which won the project in Azerbaijan’s first renewable energy tender with a bid of USD 0.0354 per kWh.
The Gobustan solar park, located in the Garadagh region near the Caspian Sea, is expected to become operational in 2027. It will generate 180 million kWh of electricity annually, enough to power around 50,000 homes, and reduce approximately 146,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.
JinkoSolar stated that its N-type TOPCon modules are well-suited for the local environment, which features high temperatures, strong winds, sand exposure, and high salinity, making them ideal for challenging climate conditions in the Caucasus.
