Recently, Lanzhou LS Superalloy New Material Co., Ltd. completed the cogging and forging operations for 17 mt of titanium alloy material, setting a new record for the heaviest single-piece titanium alloy forging in China.

In traditional forging processes for large-sized billets, the difference in deformation between the core and the surface of the billet typically exceeds 5%. The company's technical team optimized process parameters such as forging ratio and forging rate, and, with the powerful pressure of a 125MN-class fast forging press, controlled the deformation difference between the core and the surface of the 17 mt titanium alloy billet within 5%. This breakthrough has laid an important technical foundation for the company's subsequent production of ultra-large titanium alloy products weighing 20 mt or more.

In the future, Lanzhou LS Superalloy New Material Co., Ltd. will continue to focus on fields such as shipbuilding, nuclear power, and offshore engineering, striving to develop large-scale high-performance forged products made of titanium alloy and high-temperature alloy. This will help China's forging industry overcome bottlenecks in the manufacturing of high-end equipment parts, and make greater contributions to promoting the localisation of major equipment.
