Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 29, VOYAH, the premium new energy vehicle brand under Dongfeng Motor, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tsinghua University to conduct in-depth collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence. The partnership will span areas including intelligent connected vehicle technology, talent development, and commercialization of R&D outcomes, injecting new momentum into the evolution of the smart electric vehicle (EV) sector.

China's ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) market is currently shaped by three mainstream business models: full-stack suppliers, collaborative development between solution providers, and OEM-led in-house R&D. VOYAH pursues a "dual-track" strategy, combining close partnerships with external tech firms and the continuous enhancement of its internal R&D capabilities.

Following the strong market response to the DREAM MPV's integration with Huawei technologies, VOYAH plans to deepen this partnership in 2025. Upcoming models such as the VOYAH FREE+ will be among the first to adopt Huawei's ADS 4 driver assistance system and HarmonySpace 5 solution.

In parallel, VOYAH continues to invest in the development of its in-house Kunpeng driver assistance system. The latest collaboration with Tsinghua University is expected to extend across AI applications and the development of ADAS and intelligent connectivity technologies. The two parties also plan to jointly establish a technology R&D center to accelerate innovation in VOYAH's ADAS capabilities.

As early as April, VOYAH unveiled its Tianyuan Smart Architecture—an L3 driver assistance—powered by the Kunpeng system, which enhances large onboard models through data integration and analysis. With the new partnership with Tsinghua, VOYAH aims to build a comprehensive vehicle-road-cloud data system, further elevating its intelligent driving capabilities.

The collaboration represents a strong synergy between academic research and industrial application, accelerating the translation of cutting-edge university research into scalable production technologies.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
