To gain in-depth insights into the technological frontiers and market trends of high-end silicon steel materials, promote efficient integration of upstream and downstream industry chain resources, and empower the motor industry towards high efficiency, intelligence, and green development, on May 27, 2025, Xu Dean, Marketing Director of SMM Information & Technology Co., Ltd. (SMM), and Fan Cui, Director of the Motor Division, visited Hunan LY Steel Electromagnetic Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "LY Steel Electromagnetic Materials") for field exchanges. Hunan LY Steel Electromagnetic Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary established by LY Steel on December 6, 2022, in Loudi Economic Development Zone, has a total planned capacity of 1.2 million mt, including 800,000 mt of high-grade non-oriented silicon steel and 400,000 mt of oriented silicon steel, to be constructed in two phases and four steps. The total project investment amounts to approximately 9 billion yuan, covering an area of about 900 mu.

Hunan LY Steel Electromagnetic Materials Co., Ltd. adopts an integrated operation model of production, sales, and R&D, focusing on establishing a complete production process for high-grade, high magnetic induction, and ultra-thin silicon steel, enhancing the product hierarchy of LY Steel's silicon steel, and filling gaps in the product structure.Its products include high-grade non-oriented silicon steel, high magnetic induction non-oriented silicon steel, NEV drive motor non-oriented silicon steel, and high magnetic induction oriented silicon steel, mainly supplied to high-efficiency motors, NEV drive motors, high-end home appliances, and drones.

Non-oriented electrical steel targets high-grade/high-efficiency/new energy applications, while oriented electrical steel targets full Hib grades, forming the largest and most competitive silicon steel production site in the central region, primarily serving NEVs, home appliances, and smart manufacturing, supporting the national "dual carbon" goals for energy development.
