On May 27, 2025, REPT Battero Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "REPT Battero") and Hyosung Heavy Industries (hereinafter referred to as "Hyosung") officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for strategic cooperation, marking the beginning of in-depth collaboration in the energy storage system (ESS) sector. This cooperation focuses on key areas such as ESS battery cell supply, system integration, and market promotion.

According to the agreement signed by both parties, REPT Battero will provide Hyosung with up to 2.5 GWh of ESS battery cells, modules, and DC-side containers. Meanwhile, REPT Battero will also share its advanced technologies and rich experience in system design integration and quality control. Hyosung, leveraging its extensive channel network in the global power equipment market, will be responsible for product localization adaptation, certification, and promotion, facilitating the global application of the cooperation outcomes.

The core product supplied by REPT Battero in this collaboration is its new-generation 392Ah ESS battery cell. This cell boasts outstanding performance metrics, with an energy density of up to 415 Wh/L and a cycle life exceeding 12,000 cycles. Additionally, the cell has successfully passed the GB 44240-2024 shallow puncture test, demonstrating high safety by remaining fire- and explosion-proof under thermal runaway conditions. This enables it to easily withstand extreme climatic conditions and high-load application scenarios.

The jointly developed Powtrix™ DC-side containerized energy storage system by both parties has also attracted significant attention. With a capacity of 6.26 MWh, the system innovatively incorporates AI-powered intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M) and active balancing technologies. In practical applications, the Powtrix™ system can significantly reduce downtime by 20% while increasing battery utilization rate by 15%, showcasing excellent performance and reliability. The system also offers flexible configuration capabilities, allowing easy adjustment to a 4-hour long-duration energy storage (LDES) version or a 2-hour rapid-response version to meet the diverse needs of different customers.

Hyosung Heavy Industries possesses profound technical expertise and rich experience in high-energy-consuming industries such as power and steel. Leveraging its professional integration capabilities in KTL certification in South Korea, as well as UL and IEC standards in Europe and the United States, Hyosung Heavy Industries will accelerate the entry of the jointly developed products into high-growth-potential markets such as Southeast Asia and North America, significantly shortening the project implementation cycle. In addition to this collaboration with Hyosung Heavy Industries in the South Korean market, REPT Battero's production site in Indonesia, with an annual capacity of 8 Gwh, will officially commence operations in 2025, primarily to meet the demand for new energy heavy-duty trucks and grid-side ESS in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, REPT Battero's subsidiary in Europe (located in Munich, Germany) has established close cooperative relationships with internationally renowned automakers such as Stellantis and Volvo. In 2024, REPT Battero's overseas revenue surged by 526.65% YoY, demonstrating strong market expansion capabilities and international competitiveness.
