Shanghai (Gasgoo)- UBTECH ROBOTICS CORP LTD ("UBTECH") recently established a wholly-owned subsidiary, UBTECH (Shiyan) Robotics Technology Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 50 million yuan, according to the Chinese business inquiry platform Tianyancha. The new entity falls under the science and technology promotion and application services sector.
The subsidiary's business scope includes the R&D of intelligent robots, development of AI application and foundational software, and technical consulting services for public AI platforms. Corporate registration information confirms that the company is entirely owned by the Shenzhen-based UBTECH.
Founded in 2012, UBTECH is a Chinese high-tech innovator specializing in AI and humanoid robot development, platform software integration, and product commercialization.
The company began designing robots in 2012 and released its first compact model, Alpha, in 2014. In 2016, 540 Alpha robots performed on the China Central Television's Spring Festival Gala. By 2017, UBTECH had launched its commercial robotics products and solutions, followed by the release of its first-generation humanoid robot, Walker, in 2018, and the second-generation Walker in 2019. The upgraded Walker X was unveiled in 2021. UBTECH went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on December 29, 2023.

UBTECH has also introduced the new-generation industrial humanoid robot Walker S1, which has been deployed for training at BYD’s manufacturing facilities. The robot operates alongside L4 autonomous logistics vehicles, unmanned forklifts, industrial mobile robots, and intelligent manufacturing management systems—marking the world's first collaborative deployment of humanoid robots and autonomous logistics vehicles in industrial scenarios. As of the announcement date, the Walker S series had received over 500 intended orders from automakers.
In March 2025, UBTECH conducted the world's pioneering multi-robot, multi-scenario, multi-task collaborative training exercise using humanoid robots at Zeekr's 5G smart factory.
UBTECH's core technological portfolio includes high-performance servo drivers and control algorithms, motion control algorithms, computer vision algorithms for service robots, autonomous navigation and localization systems, the ROSA robot operating system framework, and intelligent voice interaction technologies.
