Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 28, NIO announced a partnership with Parkopedia to provide on-street parking services for all of its vehicles sold in Europe. Through this collaboration, NIO owners across the region will gain access to Parkopedia's extensive database of high-quality parking information, making it easier to locate available on-street parking spaces.

According to Parkopedia's latest Global Driver Survey, 92% of drivers worldwide report difficulties finding parking, while 77% express a desire for in-car parking services—underscoring the growing importance for automakers to integrate user-centric digital solutions.

NIO's global sales continue to rise rapidly, with cumulative deliveries expected to surpass 750,000 units by the end of May.

The newly launched on-street parking service aims to provide NIO's European customers with a smarter and more convenient navigation experience. Parking options will be displayed directly in the vehicle's onboard navigation system, with real-time availability indicators powered by Parkopedia's data—light blue denoting limited availability, and dark blue indicating more open spaces.

In addition to availability, Parkopedia's in-depth parking data includes pricing, time restrictions, and accepted payment methods, allowing drivers to better plan their trips and reduce the stress of urban parking.

The service will be rolled out via NIO's latest in-car operating system, Banyan 2.4.1, which will soon be available across all NIO models on sale in Europe. Drivers can access the new features by wirelessly updating their navigation app through NIO's revamped app store. The update includes real-time parking availability, smart roadside POI recommendations, enhanced driver assistance, improved voice interaction, and upgraded streaming services—collectively delivering a more refined and intelligent in-car experience.

Commenting on the partnership, Markus Dohl, Vice President of Parkopedia Europe, said: "Finding available parking in Europe can be a frustrating experience. We're proud to support NIO in creating a seamless in-car parking journey for European drivers. Reducing parking stress and improving the driving experience depends on having access to vast amounts of high-quality data—and that's exactly where Parkopedia excels. We provide only the most complete and reliable information."

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
