Chengdu Pidu Bureau to Approve EIA for RMB 4.5B Solid-State Battery Project

Recently, the Pidu Ecological Environment Bureau of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, intends to issue approval opinions on the environmental impact assessment document for the Southwest Industrial Base Project of Solid-State Batteries by a certain new energy technology company. It is reported that the project has an investment of RMB 4.5 billion. The project is located in the New Economy Industrial Park of the Industrial Port in Pidu District, Chengdu City, covering an area of approximately 446.0165 mu. New industrial plants and supporting facilities will be constructed, including a battery cell manufacturing center, a PACK manufacturing center, and a solid-state lithium battery energy storage R&D center. The total construction area is approximately 417,695.40 m². It is planned to purchase approximately 1,452 sets of equipment for electrode production, assembly, detection, PACK, etc. Upon completion, the project is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 15 GWh of solid-state battery cells and solid-state battery systems.
