Latest News on NVIDIA's Chip Supply to China According to a Reuters report cited by Singapore's Lianhe Zaobao website on May 25, US chip giant NVIDIA is reportedly set to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) chip based on the Blackwell architecture for the Chinese market. The selling price will be significantly lower than that of the previous H20 chip, with mass production expected to commence as early as June. The report states that the AI processor, which adopts the latest-generation Blackwell architecture, is expected to be priced between $6,500 and $8,000, significantly lower than the H20's pricing. A lower selling price typically implies relatively weaker chip specifications and a more simplified manufacturing process. The report notes that this will be NVIDIA's third attempt to launch a downgraded chip for the Chinese market that complies with US regulatory requirements. The US government recently prohibited NVIDIA from selling the H20 chip, which is based on the Hopper architecture, to China.
