Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 27, Hesai Group ("Hesai"), a Chinese leading provider of 3D LiDAR solutions, announced its unaudited financial results for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025. The company reported robust growth driven by surging demand in both the ADAS and robotics sectors, with quarterly revenue reaching 530 million yuan, marking a 46.3% year-on-year leap.

The company said its full-year revenue for 2025 was projected to surge between 44% and 69% compared to 2024.

In Q1 2025, Hesai also significantly narrowed its GAAP net loss by 84% year-on-year to 17.5 million yuan, while achieving profitability on a non-GAAP basis, signaling strong progress toward its full-year profit target. The combined gross margin for its Robotaxi and ADAS segments stood at 41.7%, underscoring the company's operational efficiency and commercialization strength.

The company delivered 195,818 LiDAR units in Q1, indicating a 231.3% spike from the year-ago period. ADAS product deliveries accounted for 146,087 units, up 178.5% year-on-year.

LiDAR continues to expand as a core sensing technology, particularly in robotics, where Hesai delivered 49,731 units in Q1—a 649.1% soar year-on-year.

Hesai also made significant strides internationally, securing a new validation and development project with a top 5 global Tier 1 supplier headquartered in Japan. Additionally, the company is collaborating with four major automakers and Tier 1 suppliers across Europe and Japan on five ongoing validation projects—three of which were successfully completed during the quarter.

In the domestic market, Hesai formed partnerships with iCAR, the new energy brand under Chery, and ORA under Great Wall Motors. It also secured deals for multiple hotter-selling models from Zeekr and an upcoming model from Geely.

In May 2025, Li Auto announced that its Li MEGA and L series models will come standard with Hesai's ATL all-weather LiDAR, a customized version based on the ATX platform, providing enhanced 3D perception for safer driving.

The ATX LiDAR has now been selected for volume production by 12 leading global and Chinese OEMs across multiple models, with deliveries this quarter nearing 40,000 units.

To date, Hesai has secured production program wins with over 23 Chinese and global automakers across more than 120 vehicle models, rapidly scaling up its production footprint in both domestic and international markets.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
