According to SMM statistics, as of May 26, the inventory of aluminum ingots in domestic mainstream consumption areas stood at 534,000 mt, a decrease of 23,000 mt compared to last Thursday and a decrease of 51,000 mt WoW from last Monday. SMM believes that due to the overall smooth domestic transportation in May, coupled with the expectation of weaker outflows from warehouses during the off-season, the circulation of aluminum in domestic mainstream consumption areas is expected to gradually ease from late May to early June. However, the volume of aluminum ingots in transit within China has remained relatively low in the past two weeks, and there is an expectation of continued destocking during the week. Whether the actual inventory performance will deviate from expectations in the future remains to be seen, and the next two weeks may become a critical period.
