Sunstone Development, Emirates Global Aluminium Sign Joint Deal for Prebaked Anode Production Site

On May 19, Sunstone Development announced in a statement that it had signed a Joint Development Agreement with Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) to jointly establish a prebaked anode production site. According to the agreement, Sunstone Development will hold a 55% stake, while EGA will hold a 45% stake. The Phase I capacity is expected to reach 300,000 mt/year, with an additional 300,000 mt/year capacity to be considered in the future. The agreement also stipulates that both parties will reach a consensus on the project location by Q2 2025, with construction expected to commence in Q2/Q3 2026, and commercial production to be achieved by the end of Q2/Q3 2028.
