CPCA Projects May Narrow Passenger Vehicle Sales at 1.85M Units, New Energy Vehicles at 980K

[CPCA: Narrow Passenger Vehicle Retail Sales in May Projected to Reach 1.85 Million Units, with New Energy Vehicles Accounting for 980,000 Units] The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) stated that the latest survey results indicate that the overall vehicle market discount rate in mid-May was approximately 24.8%. Top producers, whose retail sales account for over 80% of the total market, have set a retail target for this month that is 8% higher YoY compared to May last year and approximately 5% higher MoM compared to last month's target. Based on comprehensive estimates, the total retail market for narrow passenger vehicles this month is projected to be around 1.85 million units, representing an 8.5% increase YoY and a 5.4% increase MoM. Among them, new energy vehicle retail sales are expected to reach 980,000 units, with the penetration rate maintained at around 52.9%.

In January, national passenger car producers' new energy wholesale estimates reached 900,000 units, up 1% YoY.
