On May 21 (Wednesday), Nicolas Aguzin, CEO of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), stated that the London Metal Exchange (LME) had approved the establishment of three additional warehousing facilities in Hong Kong, bringing the total number of warehousing facilities in Hong Kong to seven. Since HKEX acquired LME in 2012, it has been a strategic goal to approve the establishment of warehouses in China for storing metals traded on LME. After more than a year of efforts, LME approved the establishment of warehousing facilities in Hong Kong for the first time this January. The first batch of four warehousing facilities will commence operations in July. (Webstock Inc.)
