In an era of increasingly scarce land resources, how to maximize the value of every inch of land has become a critical question for enterprises seeking high-quality development.

As a leading enterprise in China's titanium industry, Baoti Group Co., Ltd. Optimizing Land Layout to Deeply Explore Spatial Value

On the previously idle land in the northeast corner of Zone 1 in Baoti's old district, excavators and cranes are working diligently. According to Zheng Bolong, Director of Baoti Group's Planning and Development Department, a project to expand production capacity by 3,000 mt of master alloys annually is under construction here. The project will involve the construction of a new 10,268 m² workshop and the addition of production equipment such as a large-scale material drying system, a mixing and batching system, automatic sandblasting equipment, a crushing system, and an air compression system. Upon completion and reaching full production, the project is expected to generate an additional 745 million yuan in output value and an average annual net profit of 47 million yuan.

The construction of the 3,000 mt/year master alloy production expansion project is a microcosm of Baoti Group's efforts to activate the potential of land resources. In recent years, Baoti Group has conducted detailed information collection and verification of land ownership certificates for all 107 plots of land at various levels. It has comprehensively sorted out and registered all land information, as well as historical issues such as land occupied by former deep wells and liquefied gas stations, achieving systematic and dynamic management to ensure real-time updates of land information. In the process of innovative land use management, Baoti Group strictly adheres to the principles of "overall planning, step-by-step approval, legal compliance, and enterprise benefits". Starting with optimizing the industrial layout, it implements production expansion and capacity increases on existing land, scientifically and reasonably adjusting the layout of existing industries and projects to make industrial connections smoother and more efficient, truly achieving the goal of turning "every inch of land" into "every inch of gold".

Adhering to Innovation-Driven Development to Improve Output Quality and Efficiency

The core of enhancing per-mu efficiency lies in improving the output quality and efficiency per unit of land. Baoti Group insists on innovation-driven development as its engine, driving the transformation of traditional production models towards high added value and high efficiency through technological breakthroughs and equipment upgrades, thereby multiplying the value of land resources. In 2024, Baoti Group continued to strengthen and complete its industry chain, implementing 47 fixed asset investment projects with a cumulative investment of 529 million yuan. It coordinated national strategies with market demands, deploying and implementing 52 national key R&D projects, including 28 "national heavyweight" projects, and 47 process improvement projects. In the field of technological innovation, breakthroughs were achieved in a batch of key technologies, such as the 0.1mm strip rolling and continuous annealing process for fuel cell bipolar plates, and the preparation of ultra-long, ultra-wide, and heavy single-piece titanium alloy thick plates for multiple grades of aviation and marine applications. The first-pass yield of titanium materials increased by 0.86%, the production efficiency of wire materials for 3C applications increased sevenfold, the yield of titanium strips for hydrogen production increased by 25%, and the forging yield of square bars for domestic large aircraft increased by 10%.

Accelerate Intelligent Upgrades to Enable Efficient Production

During the process of intelligent transformation, Baoti Group aimed to enhance quality and efficiency, focusing on areas such as intelligent production management and control, digital operation and maintenance of equipment, intelligent logistics and warehousing, and data center construction. It coordinated the advancement of intelligent factory (workshop) construction, the development of demonstration projects for visual workshops, the procurement of intelligent production line equipment, and the intelligent transformation of key process equipment, while exploring the R&D and application of large AI models in the titanium industry. Currently, Nanjing Baose Co., Ltd. has successfully established an Internet-based intelligent manufacturing management platform. The intelligent and visual factory for the 1,850 mm wide hot-rolling line has been put into operation, and the construction project for the centralized monitoring and control system of the vacuum annealing furnace for the tube production line has passed acceptance... The implementation of a series of intelligent manufacturing projects has effectively driven the restructuring of Baoti Group's new quality productive forces across the entire supply chain, laying a solid foundation for further enhancing the per-mu economic output.

Build a Low-Carbon and Circular Economy to Strengthen the Green Foundation

In January, Baoti Group was awarded the title of "National Green Supply Chain Management Enterprise" by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for its outstanding practices in green supply chain management. This honor, one of the highest accolades in China's green manufacturing system, signifies that Baoti Group's integration of green development into the "per-mu economic output" reform has begun to yield results.

In recent years, Baoti Group has taken "conceptual innovation, technological innovation, ecological collaboration, and continuous improvement" as its main focus, actively exploring and practicing the path of green transformation. It has established a green management model covering the entire life cycle of "R&D—procurement—production—recycling," injecting green momentum into the efficient utilization of land resources. In 2024, Baoti Group's green electricity usage accounted for over 30%, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 50,000 mt; it reduced scrap by 30% using the MES system; and it saved 5,000 mt of standard coal annually through the energy management system. The "green content" of Baoti Group's per-mu economic output continues to increase.
